(UPDATE) After 16 years, Jenny Syquia-Skarne, a former actress, Bride Philippines editor and ex-wife of Gabby Concepcion is back in the country with Cloie Skarne, her 17-year old daughter with Gabby. Her message for her ex-hubby is simple - "everything is water under the bridge!"

Jenny reminded people that her marriage to Gabby exploded in 1994 and it's already 2012. She has moved on a long time ago and she has no regrets.

"I'm happy for Gabby and I hope he's happy for me too. I really don't have any regrets. Of course I wouldn't have Cloie if I never met Gabby. So you can never have regrets because whatever God brings your way, you will learn from them and there's a reason for everything that happens," said Jenny during the contract-signing of Cloie with Viva Artist Agency or VAA on Thursday, January 26.

An aging population will demand more flavorful foods with stronger tastes, aroma, contrast and texture due to weaker, less sensitive taste buds, says a recent report from a US culinary institute.
While children have the ability to regenerate taste buds every couple of weeks, the rate of regeneration decreases after the age of 40, compromising the sense of taste, points out a seasonal newsletter from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) released last week.

That means that the key to appealing to aging, baby boomer taste buds is to cook with more flavor.

And while traditionally, flavor equaled reaching for more fat, salt and sugar, the CIA points out that certain cooking techniques can do just as good a job at coaxing flavor and manipulating tastes as the addition of more ingredients.

Ivan was one of the thousands of hopefuls who wanted Katy to kiss him as part of her act in her “California Dreams” tour. Manila was the last leg of the tour, which started in February 2011 with over a hundred shows in Europe, Australia and America.

Floyd Mayweather has spoken to Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao by telephone to discuss a possible megafight next May, advisers to each fighter confirmed to several media outlets on Thursday.
Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe confirmed the call to ESPN while Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum did the same to BoxingScene.com and Pacquiao himself talked with ABS-CBN in the Philippines about the short conversation.
The Filipino report quoted Pacquiao as saying there would be no problem if Mayweather would agree to a 50-50 split of income from what is expected to be the richest fight in boxing history -- if it ever comes off.

Change for the better

Jason admitted he has gone astray especially during the take-off period of his career, but Jewel helped him change for the better.

“Ako kasi lumaki ako sa pamilya na relihiyoso, pero nung nagshowbiz ako, napabarkada at medyo naiba yung landas ko. Nagpapasalamat ako kase ito ulit ako, bumabalik. Para sa akin, siya (Jewel) yung nakapagdala sa akin sa tamang daan.”

Jason adds that many people don’t know that Jewel is very active in church, which helped a lot in bringing them closer together and changing him for the better.

“Sobra siyang devoted sa ginagawa nya. Para sa akin, yun yung bagay na kailangan ko kasi alam ko naman kung paano ako as a Christian. Siya yung parang nag-aakay,” he adds.

Jason and Jewel wanted to keep their relationship a secret, even if they have been going out since early last year. That’s why they only became open about it now.

Spiritual growth

The sweethearts are now more focused on growing spiritually.

“Mas kailangan ko rin as a Christian na mas mag-grow. Kailangan muna naming mag-grow as a person, para pagdating niyo, andun na kayo sa puntong pareho na kayong ready,” Jason says.

In “Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin,” Jason plays Jake Falcon, the love interest of Maja’s character.

Will Jewel get jealous over his team-up with Maja?

“Magkaibigan rin naman sila. Wala akong nakikitang dahilan,” he replies.

The Star Circle Quest finalist is now dubbed as “Prince of TV Afternoon Drama” because of his afternoon soaps such as “Reputasyon” and “Alyna.”
